Hay River PeeWee Huskies Take GOLD  in Spirit River

The Hay River Huskies Pee Wee team played in Spirit River the weekend of January 14-15, 2012 and came away with the gold.

 

There were six teams at the tournament: Spirit River, Hay River, Dawson Creek, Smoky River, and 2 Grande Prairie teams.

Round Robin: HR beat Grande Prairie Rednecks 12-2 in first game. HR lost to Spirit River 4-3 to finish second in pool A.

 

HR played Smoky River in the semi-final and won 7-5.

This set up a rematch against Sprit River for the gold.

It was a back and forth game through 2 periods with the score tied 4-4 after 2 periods.

HR scored three in the final period to win 7-4.

 

HR went with 12 skaters and one goalie. All of them played fantastic.

 

Here is the team with their medals. The score in the final game was 7-4 for Hay River over the host Spirit River Rangers in a great game.

Hay River PeeWee Huskies Victorious in Fairview

The Hay River Huskies PeeWees came away with the championship after winning all of their games in Fairview. For some of the PeeWees it was their first experience in a full contact tournament. They all did well and managed to escape without any serious injuries. Way to go!

Hay River Bantam Huskies Undefeated in Peace River

The Hay River Huskies Bantams came away with the championship after winning all four of their games in Peace River.

Three games were on the schedule for the Huskies on Saturday.
The first game starting at 8 am (omg!), the next at 12:30 pm and the last game starting at 8 pm. That's a long day!

The final game on Sunday at 12:30 pm was a nail-biter but saw the Huskies rally to a 5-4 victory over the hometown team.

4 team tournament in Peace River

The Hay River Huskies Bantams were undefeated in their bid for the gold in the tournament.  There were two teams from Peace River, one from Grande Prairie,  and Hay River.

Hay River White win Gold at home

The Hay River Huskies White PeeWee came away with the gold after the final game against the Hay River Blue team.

6 team tournament in Hay River

The Hay River Huskies White were undefeated in their bid for the gold at home.  Teams visited from Fairview, Yellowknife and Fort Smith.

Atoms take Gold in Peace River

The Hay River Huskies Atom team visted Peace River on the weekend of January 4-6, 2011 and came away with the gold.

4 games in all

The Huskies were undefeated in their bid for the gold in Peace River. The final game against Clairmont was played without any goals being scored on the Hay River team! The tournament was a lot of fun and the (for fun only) extra shoot outs proved to be an exciting finish to each game with the winner taking a box of Timbits back to the dressing room.

PeeWees on the road to Beaverlodge

PeeWee Huskies were in Beaverlodge (December 13-14. 2010). Lost two, won one. A great time was had by all!
 

 

PeeWees take Gold in Peace River

The Hay River Huskies PeeWee team visted Peace River on the weekend of December 3 - 5, 2010 and managed to take the gold.

5 games in all

The Huskies won all their games over the three day tournament. They had a hard fought battle in the final game, defeating the home town team, Peace River Knights. The Huskies had won a previous encounter by a large margin but the Knights went into the final ready to even the score. It was tied 1-1 after the second period. The Huskies managed to stay strong and pull ahead to win 6-1.
